Subscription Terms

These Subscription Terms describe how the Pro subscription for Narada works. They form part of, and are governed by, the App's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Overview

Narada is free to install and use for local recording, on-device transcription, and search. AI-powered features (meeting summaries, follow-up extraction, chat over your meeting history, embeddings) require either:

  • a paid Pro subscription billed through Apple, or
  • the "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) mode, in which you provide your own OpenAI API key and pay OpenAI directly, or
  • a local LLM integration (e.g., Ollama, LM Studio) for users who prefer fully on-device inference.

2. Plans & pricing

  • Pro Monthly — US $6.99 / month
  • Pro Annual — US $59.99 / year (saves approximately 28% vs. monthly)

Prices may vary by country to reflect local taxes, currency, and Apple's pricing matrix. The price you see at checkout in the App Store is the final price you pay.

3. Free trial

New subscribers may be offered a 3-day free trial at the start of a Pro subscription. The exact trial length (and whether one is offered to your account at all) is shown on the in-app paywall and at the App Store checkout. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends — see Section 5 below for cancellation steps. If you do not cancel in time, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid period at the regular price.

4. Billing & renewal

Subscriptions are billed by Apple Inc. through your Apple ID at the start of each subscription period (monthly or annual) and renew automatically at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple is the merchant of record. We do not see your card details and cannot process your payment ourselves.

5. How to cancel

You can cancel at any time:

  1. Open System Settings on your Mac and click your Apple ID at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Click Media & Purchases → Manage next to "Subscriptions" (or open the App Store, click your name in the bottom-left, then Account Settings → Subscriptions).
  3. Find Narada, click Edit, and choose Cancel Subscription.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to Pro features until that date.

6. Fair-use quotas

Pro includes a generous monthly allowance of AI requests intended to cover ordinary professional use. To keep the service sustainable for everyone, we may apply a fair-use cap, which is shown in the App under Settings → Usage. When you approach the cap, the App may transparently switch to a smaller, less-expensive model, or temporarily pause AI calls until the quota resets on the first day of the following calendar month. If you have a legitimate need for higher volumes, contact us — we are happy to discuss.

7. BYOK mode

You may connect your own OpenAI API key in the App's settings to use AI features without a Pro subscription. In BYOK mode, requests go directly from the App to OpenAI; we are not involved in those calls and do not bill you. You are responsible for any charges from OpenAI under your own account. We are not liable for OpenAI's pricing changes, rate limits, or service availability.

8. Refunds

Because Apple processes all payments, all refund requests must go through Apple. Submit a request via Apple's Report a Problem page or your purchase confirmation email. Refund decisions are at Apple's sole discretion. We are unable to issue refunds directly. EU consumers retain any non-waivable statutory withdrawal rights under applicable national law.

9. Changes to subscription terms

We may adjust pricing, plans, or quotas. For existing subscribers, any price increase that requires explicit consent under Apple's policies will be presented to you in the App Store before the first higher-priced renewal — your subscription will not auto-renew at the new price unless you confirm. Material changes to features or quotas will be announced in the App at least 14 days in advance.

10. Termination by us

We may terminate a Pro subscription if it is being used abusively (for example, automated scraping, account sharing across many devices, or attempts to circumvent quotas) and refund any unused portion at our discretion. Routine termination follows the standard cancellation flow described in Section 5.
